General Surgery Department

The Department of General Surgery of Shanghai Yida Hospital follows a "specialized expertise with comprehensive care" model, adhering to the principles of "minimally invasive surgery" and "standardized tumor treatment". Specializing in laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques, the department excels in comprehensive management of hepatobiliary-pancreatic tumors, portal hypertension, gastrointestinal cancers, thyroid/breast tumors, cholelithiasis, intestinal obstruction, varicose veins, and complex hemorrhoids. With 50 beds and subspecialties in hepatobiliary surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, anorectal surgery, thyroid/breast surgery, and vascular surgery, it integrates clinical care, teaching, and research.

Equipment

The department is equipped with advanced specialized equipment including the STORZ laparoscopic system, OLYMPUS electronic gastroenteroscopy, GE digital mammography machine, GE full-digital angiography system (DSA), Uroflow endovascular laser therapy device, and OLYMPUS radiofrequency ablation system.

Main Diagnostic and Therapeutic Programs

· Hepatobiliary Surgery: Liver cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, gallbladder cancer, pancreatic cancer, portal hypertension, cholelithiasis, choledocholithiasis, gallbladder polyps, and other complex conditions.

· Anorectal Surgery: Severe hemorrhoids, complex anal fistulas, slow - transit constipation, outlet obstructive constipation, varying degrees of rectal mucosal prolapse, rectal cancer, etc.

· Gastrointestinal Surgery: Gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, small bowel tumors, gastric stromal tumors, intestinal polyps, with a focus on surgical management of gastrointestinal disorders.

· Thyroid Surgery: Surgical treatment for thyroid nodules (adenomas/cysts), thyroid cancer, and cervical lymphadenopathy related to thyroid disorders.

· Breast Surgery: Surgical management of mastitis, fibrocystic breast changes, fibroadenoma, and breast cancer, including breast - conserving and axillary - sparing procedures, as well as modified radical mastectomy.

· Laparoscopic Hernia Repair: Minimally invasive repair of direct/indirect hernias, incisional hernias, and parastomal hernias.

· Vascular Surgery: Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) for varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis, and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR).

Featured Diagnostic and Therapeutic Programs

Multimodal and Graded Precision Treatment for Cholelithiasis

1. Triple endoscopic approach (laparoscopic surgery + cholecystoscopy for gallbladder preservation + choledochoscopy) for gallbladder-preserving lithotomy in patients with gallbladders of relatively good function, restoring your intact gallbladder and healthy diet.

2. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy for gallstones in non-functional gallbladders.

3. PTGD (percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage) combined with LC for gallstones in critically ill patients.

4. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy combined with ERCP technique for choledocholithiasis complicated with cholecystolithiasis.

5. Cholangioscopy-guided super-selective branch technique of the tertiary bile duct combined with laparoscopic surgery for intrahepatic bile duct stones.

6. Hepatectomy of diseased liver combined with ultrathin choledochoscope for intrahepatic bile duct stones accompanied by liver atrophy.

Minimally Invasive Treatment in Vascular Surgery for Various Vascular Diseases

1. Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) for varicose veins of the lower extremities.

2. Fine microinjection of vascular sclerosing agent for the manifestation of varicose veins of the lower extremities.

3. Minimally invasive placement of vascular filters for the prevention and treatment of pulmonary and cerebral embolism secondary to venous thrombosis.

4. Endovascular membranous stent placement for abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Minimally Invasive Treatment of Anorectal Diseases with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine

1. Using the minimally invasive technique with the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, combining the RPH (Rubber Band Ligation) technique and the PPH (Procedure for Prolapse and Hemorrhoids) technique to treat various severe hemorrhoids, complex anal fistulas, rectal mucosal prolapse of different degrees and other difficult anorectal diseases.

2. Laparoscopic low anterior resection for rectal cancer to improve the quality of life after surgery.

3. Minimally invasive technique with the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine to treat various functional anorectal diseases such as slow transit constipation and outlet obstruction constipation.

4. Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment for rapid recovery after digestive tract diseases surgery.

Multimodal Precision Treatment for Various Primary and Secondary Liver Cancers

1. Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for liver cancer.

2. Liver cancer surgery combined with umbilical vein catheterization and pump perfusion sequential treatment for primary liver cancer and metastatic liver cancer.

3. Liver cancer surgery combined with radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for primary liver cancer and metastatic liver cancer.

4. Vascular intervention combined with radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for primary liver cancer and metastatic liver cancer.

5. Staged treatment with vascular intervention, umbilical vein catheterization and pump perfusion, radiofrequency ablation and surgery for huge liver cancer.

6. Comprehensive treatment with vascular intervention, umbilical vein catheterization and pump perfusion, internal emission particle implantation for liver metastases of colon cancer.
